Your Sensi Just Got Smarter – Filter Reminders Now Available  

No more forgetting to change your air filter or schedule HVAC maintenance. In-app service reminders from Sensi make it easier than ever to keep your heating and cooling system functioning at its peak performance.  

Sensi has launched a new feature for its smart thermostat models to provide in-app HVAC service reminders.  

With this update, Sensi users can set alerts to receive notifications when routine maintenance needs to be done to their heating and cooling system. Users can opt in to this new feature to receive emails and notifications from their smart thermostat.  

Reminders can be generated based on user preferences for a set duration of months or fan run-time hours.  

Types of Service Reminders   

Air Filter  

• Changing your air filter may not always be top of mind with your busy schedule. To maintain optimal efficiency for your HVAC unit and ensure cleaner air through your house, you can now set up reminders to change your air filter. The average life of an air filter is three months or 300 hours. These suggested hours can vary depending on where you live and / or if you have any pets in your home. The reminder feature can be customized to your preferences.  

HVAC Maintenance  

• As the seasons change, it is recommended to have your heating and cooling system serviced by a licensed contractor. Routine maintenance helps to keep your system running efficiently to save energy and money through the year.   

 UV Bulb 

• Contractors install UV lights near HVAC coils to prevent the spread of air-borne pathogens including mold and bacteria growth. Setting UV Bulb reminders will help you remember when to replace your bulb—keeping your home healthier!  

Humidifier Pad 

• Particularly in the winter months, humidifiers can run on overdrive. You can now set up notifications for when to change your humidifier pad. These also are recommended to be changed every three months or 300 hours.  

Batteries, ducts and more!   

• In addition, users have the option to create their personalized service reminders that are unique to their home. These may include:   
  • When to replace your thermostat batteries  
  • Cleaning your external HVAC unit (including trimming brush around)  
  • Air duct cleaning   

This new feature also offers a notes section where you can document preferences on filter brands, sizes, ratings or anything else you’d like to document for your HVAC system directly in your thermostat for quick reference.
